Projects & Clients

Client Projects is built for agencies, freelancers and studios. Keep client records, move projects across a board, plan milestones and tasks, write proposals with AI, and share a live status page with each client.

In the dashboard:Client Projects › Active Projects · ClientsPlan:All plans · requires the Client Projects extension

Turn it on first

Install Client Projects from Website › Extensions. The Client Projects group then appears in the sidebar. It's designed for Business Website stores.

Clients

Under Client Projects › Clients, add each client with:

FieldNotes
Full Name, Email, PhoneThe main contact person.
Company Name and WebsiteThe business you’re working for.
Client StatusActive Partner, Inactive / Archive, or Prospective Lead.
Billing AddressFor your invoices.
Private NotesFor you only; the client never sees them.

The list shows each client's project count, and totals for all clients, active partners and prospective leads. You can send a client an update straight from their row.

The project board

Active Projects shows your work as a board with five columns: Leads & Proposals, Planning & Setup, Active Works, Paused / Blocker and Completed Tasks. Drag cards between columns as work moves on, or switch to the table view to see budget, progress and deadline side by side. Totals at the top show all projects, active projects, pending leads and total value.

Create a project

  1. Add the basics

Project title, description, the client, status (Lead, Planning, Active, Paused, Completed or Cancelled), budget and deadline.
  2. Plan milestones

Add milestones such as “Phase 1: Wireframes & UX”, each with a description, a payout amount and a due date. Add tasks under each milestone.
  3. Or let AI plan it

The AI Project Roadmap Generator takes a description of what needs building and a budget, and drafts milestones and tasks you can review before saving.
  4. Write the proposal

Under Project Scope & Contract Proposal, generate a statement of work with AI, then edit it (it's Markdown).
  5. Hand off deliverables

Add handoff assets as they're ready: an external link, code repository, design file, documentation or live deploy URL.

Share progress with the client

Each project has a live share link. Copy it and send it to your client. They see the project's status page with progress, the proposal and deliverables, and the updates you post on the project board. It saves a lot of “how is it going?” emails.

Ask the AI about your projects

The Vendor AI Agent understands your projects: “Show me my active projects”, “Which clients do I have right now?”, “Which milestones are still unpaid?”, or “Add a new client to my CRM”.
